                                                                                                                                 i.            Recognize and name of 3-D solid shape.
                                                                                                                               ii.            Recognize physical model of 3-dimensional shapes with their illustrations.
                                                                                                                              iii.            Relate objects in the environment to geometric figures and match solid shapes (cube, cylinder, sphere, cuboids, cone) to objects.

Previous knowledge                :           The students have learnt the 2-D shape and know
how to describe 2-D shape.

·         Introducing the concept of three-dimension shape with puppet show.


1.      Teacher shows objects of 3-D shape in the environment such as tissue box, tin can and party hat to geometric figures.

2.      Teacher introduce today’s topic.

(20 minutes)



·         Teacher explains the shapes and guides students to name those objects.

1.      Teacher will be introducing 3-D shapes through puppet show and names the shape.

      1.      Example:

Teacher:  “Hi, I am Mr. Cube…I have 6 flat faces, 12 edges and 8 corners…Nice to meet you”.

      2.      The show will be continued with next shapes.

      3.       Teacher explains the shapes and describes the flat faces, edges, curves and corners.

      4.      Pupils will be asked to answer the question and name the shapes again.

Class activity

1.      Teacher begins the class activity with dividing the class into two groups.

2.      A student selected will be recognize the shape given by the member later on and name the correct it.

3.      Then, teacher ask selected student to put the solid 3-d shape at the correct place to 3-d chart.
